How do I use Koch Chemie Headlight Polish Set?

Step 1: Preparation

• Clean the headlights before you begin. Make sure they are free of dust and dirt.
• Use masking tape to tape surrounding surfaces for protection.

Step 2: Sanding

• Assess the condition of the headlights and select the appropriate sandpaper based on the degree of weathering.
• If the headlights are heavily yellowed, start with the 1000-grit sandpaper (coarse grit). Repeat this step with the 2000-grit sandpaper (medium grit) and then with the 4000-grit sandpaper (fine grit) until an evenly sanded surface is achieved. For slightly matte headlights, the sanding can be skipped.

Step 3: Removal of sanding scratches

• Use Headlight Polish 1 and the matching Heavy Cut Pad or Lambskin Pad to remove sanding scratches and polish the surface.

Step 4: Polishing

• Apply Headlight Polish 2 and use the Thermo Pad to polish the surface to a high gloss result.

Step 5: Optional use of polisher

• Although manual application is possible, we recommend using a rotary polisher at medium speed and pressure for a more efficient process and better results.

Warnings:

• We recommend performing multiple polishing steps to achieve the desired finish before applying a wax or ceramic coating.
• When using rotary polishers, it is important to pay close attention to the heat build-up on the surface. If you do a lot of correction work in a specific place, it is wise to take regular breaks to allow the panel to cool down.
